Peter Panic and the Pixie and a plastic camera

I put up the main body of images I shot of Peter Panic and the Pixie a week or so ago. I thought I'd put these three extra images up on my blog, as I like them, but they probably arent strong enough for my main site.

Two of them (below text) were shot on my cheap plastic Olympus XA. It was one of the first plastic compacts made in the late 70's, and the initial model was beautifully put together, you can read up on all the skillful design that went into it, but I won't bore you here. I think this first model was not particularly cost effective, and later models removed the rangefinder system, and didnt have such a sharp lens.

The image of Jez and Helen sitting high up on that big tree branch is actually a bit soft (the camera is really hard to focus sometimes) but when you get it right it gives some really nice results. I think I managed to get Jez's boot in focus(!) here, but I still like all the tones the camera captures in this pic.
